Dark Tower is an electronic boardgame of swords, sorcery, adventure, intrigue, and competition. The basic board layout requires you to travel through four kingdoms. In the three kingdoms outside your own, you will find, in order, a brass key, a silver key, and a gold key. Before you can progress to a new realm, you must find the key to that realm first.

If you try to exit a realm prematurely, the tower display will warn you that you have not yet found the key and revoke your turn.

During your travels about the board, you will interact for the most part with the Dark Tower electronic unit, shown here in the center of the board.

You can travel to open space regions, buildings, your citadel, or to the Dark Tower.

There are 4 types of buildings you can visit:

If you survive the battle, you may have the opportunity to get one of the three keys, and/or other treasures including gold, a sword, a pegasus, or a powerful spell granted by a wizard!

You can use the gold to purchase things at the Bazaar. Use the sword to slay the mighty dragon. The pegasus allows you one free travel in a frontier or across a frontier border. Use the spell to curse one of your opponents into giving you half of all of his goodies!

You can find all of these goodies in the open spaces also, but when you travel through an open space, you also risk running into a random encounter. There are 3 types of random encounters (shown with what counters them):
LOST
PLAGUE
DRAGON
Scout
Healer
Sword

The winner is the first person to get all three keys, arrive at the Dark Tower, determine the correct combination of the keys, and defeat all the brigands inside. The game is quite visually and audibly stunning.
